About

I am a Board Certified Family Physician with over 30 years of experience in primary care and other practice settings. I currently work as a Hospitalist in Gloucester, Massachusetts and I am President of the Wilson Institute of Neuroscience. I have a strong interest in Neuroscience–the science of how the brain works, especially the interface between diet and brain function. This blog is dedicated to introducing a new disease model–Carbohydrate Associated Reversible Brain syndrome (CARB Syndrome). The CARB syndrome concept for the first time ties together many common medical conditions through a shared pathological process and gives us insight into why these diseases are increasing at an epidemic rate. If this model is correct, then it is the most common disease in modern western societies, likely affecting you, your family or those you care about.

It’s difficult to fight an unknown enemy. This blog will give you the tools to prevent the disease or if you already have it, take the steps to move your health back in the right direction.
